1. Processing of personal data

- Possible PIN code for Member.card
- Consent to marketing if necessary
The customer"s submission of this information is required by law/or necessary for Merkur Bets to be able to fulfill the contract.
Besides the above mentioned information the following data will be collected and processed at registration and in some cases on an ongoing basis, as follows:
The processing of data in connection with marketing is based on consent. This affirmation can be redrawn by the customer via the customer account or by contacting customer service at any time.
1.2 Establishing customer identity
The customer"s identity is established during or after the registration of the gaming account. For this purpose the following is required:
- Full name of the customer
- The Cpr. no. of the customer
The use of the customer"s digital signature (eID) also named MitID.
When the customer has been identified data can be collected and processed – in certain cases continuesly – in the following manner:
- In connection with registration a collation of the information that the customer has submitted with data heltd with a service provider specialized in identity validation or with a national or regional database. The processing"s purpose is to assist Merkur Bets in verifying the customer"s identity, compliance with minimum age and residential address as well as banking information.
- In compliance with requirements set for the combatting of money laundering or to protect customers additional documentation can be required at registration and periodically thereafter. If necessary, personal information may also be verified through specialized service providers. Such proof may include, among other things, a copy of a passport or residence permit, ownership information, the customer"s occupation, the source of the funds used for gambling activities, creditworthiness information, etc. In special cases, facial verification using photos of the customer may be required.
1.3 Deposits and withdrawals
As part of the registration process, each customer is assigned a gaming account where his or her deposits and withdrawals are recorded.
Depending on the selected payment method, it may be necessary to provide bank information to facilitate a withdrawal of funds.
In connection with payments, the following data may be collected:
- Transaction data for the payment (ID, date and time, IP address, etc.)
- Billing and payment data (amount, confirmation or rejection of the payment, etc.)
- Bank information (account holder"s name, bank name, IBAN, BIC)
- Specific payment-related information (account ID, cell phone number, bonus code, credit card type, etc.)
- Compliance with limits set by the customer or Merkur Bets

The customer"s submission of this information is necessary for the fulfillment of the agreement and the obligations imposed on Merkur Bets by law. Without this information, Merkur Bets cannot process a payment or pay out winnings.
1.4 Gaming Activity
If a customer places a bet or participates in a game on the website, app, or at a betting terminal at a retailer, the following personal information is collected from the customer:
- Transaction information for the bet/game (ID, date and time, IP address, etc.)
- Bet details (number, subject of the bet, event and odds, stake, winnings, etc.)
- Game details (ID, game ID, game type, etc.)
- Compliance with limits
- Compliance with bonus terms and conditions
The collection of this information is necessary to comply with the obligations under the Gaming Act and the Anti-Money Laundering Act, and to enable Merkur Bets to fulfill the terms of the gaming agreement. Without this information, Merkur Bets cannot accept bets or other wagers.
In addition, the following information is collected in cases of suspected fraud:
- To combat fraud, when a bet is placed, information regarding any existing suspicion of fraud is obtained from service providers specializing in this area.
Obtaining this information is required by law as a measure to combat fraud. Without this information, Merkur Bets cannot accept bets from individual customers.
The customer is required to provide this information.
1.5 Customer Support and handling of complaints
In connection with inquiries to customer support and complaints, the following personal information is collected:
- The basic information and contact details collected from the customer during registration
- The content of the inquiry or complaint, including any attached files
Providing this information is necessary for the fulfillment of the agreement. Without this information, Merkur Bets cannot provide user-specific support or handle complaints.
The following information is also collected from the customer:
- If a customer contacts the customer support hotline, they can help improve service quality by voluntarily agreeing to have the call recorded. In such cases, the recording will be used for internal evaluation and to improve the service.
- The call is recorded and stored for the purpose of documenting what occurred and was said during the call, including any agreements reached.
1.6 The protection of customers
When a customer sets limits—whether due to requirements under the Gaming Act or by using other limits offered by Merkur Bets—or sets a self-exclusion, the following personal information is collected from the customer:
- Transaction information, master data, and contact information
- Payment and betting limits, as well as gaming limits
- Self-exclusion information (master data, duration, reason, etc.)
When creating a gaming account and upon all subsequent logins to the gaming account, the Danish Gambling Authority"s Register of Voluntarily Excluded Players (ROFUS) is consulted. The processing of this information is necessary to fulfill the gaming agreement and to comply with the requirements of the Gaming Act.
1.7 Technical information
If the customer is active on the Merkur Bets website, the app, or via a betting terminal, the following data may be collected:
- Usage and session data (ID, date and time, IP address, browser information, etc.)
- Technical data that makes it possible to identify a device being used
- Login data/li>
- Geolocation data, depending on user settings
The collection of this data is necessary to comply with gambling laws, to protect Merkur Bets" systems from attacks, to enable potential criminal prosecution of attackers, and to prevent fraud.
